let's have some tea! *Shimmerz*

I'm a great tea-lover so today I have this teapot to share with you.
No plan, just playing with all those gorgeous Shimmerz colors! :)

The teapot got two coats of gesso first.
I randomly applied the paints and watered them to let them run.

I used these colors:
Shimmerz: Bubble gum
Shimmerz: Sugar Plum
Shimmerz: Pink
Shimmerz: Magenta
Shimmerz: Marigold

When the paint is still a bit wet, I applied some gesso.
Took a tooth-pick and made these fun shapes.
Really love this effect!

The small mini roses were also painted with the Shimmerz.

Another close-up of the paints and gesso.
Love the way the gesso makes little cracks!
This could easily be an awesome background for any project, don't you think!

Enjoy your day!

baby carriage *Maja design*

Today I proudly present Maja Designs new baby: the "Gift for you" collection.
What better way to show this new 'baby' by altering this carriage!!!
Took me quite some time and lots of work but I'm very pleased how it turned out!
Lot of my work already found a new home but my girls insisted that I kept this one! :)

At first I started to paint the carriage as the original color was an ugly brown color.
Took me quite some layers of gesso to lighten it.
Can't live without gesso! LOL

Added some turquoise touches so it matches my living room.
The base of the carriage was made using the 'wrapped in old newspaper' sheet.

Made the blanket with the 'from someone special' and 'wrapped in old newspaper' sheet.
The edges of the carriage is the border strip from the ' handwritten Post Card' sheet.

The paper blanket with lace and a piece of a flower trim.
Added a small bear charm, isn't he cute?!!

Painted the metal pieces of the carriage with some metal paint.

The front side.
Punched some flowers from the 'wrapped in old newspaper' sheet.
Distressed the edges and glued them on both sides.

A lovely bow of turquoise ribbon on the back.

Took me some time to make the top of the carriage.
Cut out some small strips of the 'hope to see you soon' sheet and distressed all the edges.
Some inking on the sides to get an older look.

Added some beautiful lace on the small strips.

A lovely flower accent on the top.

The wheels were also painted with the metal paint.

Although this is a Chrismas collection, these papers can be used for non-traditional projects as well!!

Papers used:
Hope to see you soon
Wrapped in old newspaper
Handwritten Post Card
From someone special

Enjoy your day!

cake and card *Shimmerz*

There is always something to celebrate!
Today I would like to share this cake and card.
Made these cakes before but I can't help myself, they are so much fun to make!

For these projects I used the following paints:
Coloringz: Mama sings the blues
Spritz: Treasured Hymn
Vibez: Jen b blue
Shimmerz: Butter cream
Shimmerz: Tickle me turquoise
Shimmerz: Antique lace

This chipboard cake got 2 coats of gesso before adding the paints.
The horizontal sides got a coat of Glass beads paste from Liquitex.

String of pearls around the circles.

Some prima flowers I had in my stash for a long time.

The Glass Beads paste with a touch of gesso.

The two big flowers and the mini roses were painted with the Shimmerz paints.

Applied the paints and let them run by adding some water.

And here is my card:
Created the background with the same Glass Beads paste.

The chipboard butterfly, from Scrap-Unlimited, got two coats of gesso.

Close-up of the lovely texture.

Enjoy your day!

wall hanging HOME *Maja Design*

This wall hanging has already found a new home!
Made this one for a dear friend of mine.
I used the Vintage Summer Basics collection.

I started this project with a blue background and distressed the edges.
Layered some strips of patterned paper and made some texture with modeling paste.

Some modeling paste using a template from the Crafter Workshop and paint splatters.

Made the circles by using a bottle cap and some paint.

A lovely metal bird cage.

A flower arrangement with handmade thread flowers and painted flowers and mini roses.

This gorgeous metal butterfly was found at a home decor store.
It was part of a long string with different sizes of butterflies and leaves.
The little metal butterfly comes from my stash.

This metal leave was a part of the string also.

The letters are from Imaginarium Design and got a layer of puffy paint.

1923, 1933 and 1934

Enjoy your day!

It's time to play with Shimmerz!

Playing with Shimmerz paints.....well I just love every minute!
This clock was just so much fun to make!
My last post was a dress form in similar colors and these two are now proudly standing in my bedroom.

This wooden clock got a first coat of gesso.
I glued some paper towel with Mod Podge on different places.
Once dry, I applied some text with modeling paste using a template, on the flat spots.
Give all of this a last coat of gesso before adding the colors.

For this clock I used the following paints:
Vibez: Razzel Dazzel Berry
Vibez: Grape Escape
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Inklingz (metal); Tarnished Treasure
Inklingz (pearl): Beets me
Shimmerz: Tickle me turquoise
Shimmerz: Royal Purple

Right side.
Here you can see the effect of the painted paper towel.
Applied some touches of gesso to get a better sight of all that texture.

Left side.
Text template and modeling paste.
Watered the colors to let them run a bit.

And of course all of the flowers were also painted with the Shimmerz paints!

Some text on top.

Loving these colors together and the yummy texture!

If you want to play with all of those yummy colors and paints, please remember that if you order and mention my name, you get one Shimmerz product for FREE!!

Enjoy your day!
